Earlier this year, Munters supplied three ICA units with PowerPurge to Takata Corporation, a global supplier of automotive safety systems such as seat belts, airbags and child seats.
Munters equipment replaces more than twenty smaller dehumidification units to control the humidity in the airbag manufacturing plant. This environment is critical because the airbags’ hydroscopic propellants are exposed here when brought out of storage before final assembly. The Munters units also provide Takata with significant savings on their energy consumption.
Takata has been a repeat customer of Munters for several years.
