Munters improves spray drying application operations

Seasonal variations can greatly effect the operation of spray drying towers. For example in the summer, when the moisture content in the air is high, the operating conditions are less favorable than in winter, when the water content in the air is low. Also in summer there is a greater tendency for powders to become sticky and cause more downtime.

Obtaining stability and achieving a consistent quality output is desired in the spray drying process. To do this it is necessary to stabilize all the parameters of the operation, especially controlling the moisture content of the incoming air. Dehumidifying the air entering the spray drying process provides a low moisture content throughout the year, providing stable inlet conditions, consistent quality and increased performance for the spray drying process.

Munters has developed a range of special high performance dehumidifiers to precisely control the moisture content of the incoming air and ensure increased production from the spray drying process all year round. Munters desiccant dehumidifiers also provide a consistent low dew point, removing moisture while heating the process air for maximum energy savings.
