Munters Humidification Minimizes Wintertime Dry Air Concerns in the Montreal Area

Cold and dry wintertime air brought inside for heating can be 20 times drier in the Montreal area before it even reaches the HVAC system.  That warmed, dry air in an office building depletes moisture and can cause dry, irritated skin.  It can also cause loose joints in wooden furniture and create gaps in walls, ceilings and baseboards.  In addition, dry air produces problematic static electricity.  Of greater concern, static electricity can damage electronic equipment in data centers and cause a loss of efficiency in printing shops

The solution – Munters WETdek®, HUMIdek®, and Humimax® Evaporative Humidifers.

In Montreal, the most popular solution is the HUMIdek® Evaporative Humidifier—the HUMIdek® modules are mounted inside existing Air Handling Units (AHU's) and utilize the existing drain utilities.  The WETdek® module can be mounted both inside an AHU, or bolted into the ductwork.  Another option popular to the Montreal area is the Humimax® self contained module, provided with a fan to move the air past the wetted Evaporative media.  The Humimax® module is not inserted into an AHU or ductwork, but stands alone in an open room where humidification is needed.
