Schools & Universities

Good indoor air quality (IAQ) is important to learning and is essential for a productive learning environment, but studies have found that over 40% of the nation’s schools report deficiencies in IAQ. The air quality is deteriorated by pollutants including dust, pollen, mold, mildew and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) that come from everywhere - science laboratories, carpet, furniture, occupants, cleaning solutions, etc.

Inadequate ventilation for dilution of these pollutants, or ventilating without controlling the humidity levels in the fresh air is very often the reason indoor air quality is so poor in many buildings. This causes headaches, fatigue, asthma (and other respiratory-related problems), an inability to concentrate, and increased absenteeism among students and faculty.  In a place of learning, the last thing you want to worry about is harmful mold and mildew. Moldy books, damaged carpet and warped flooring are just some effects humidity can have on schools and universities.  Not to mention the health risks mold and mildew spores pose to students and teachers.

Munters humidity control and energy recovery technologies protect the building and its contents from the harmful effects of humidity, and decrease heating and cooling requirements to maintain lower energy costs.  Students, faculty and staff can breathe easier knowing their air is healthy, clean and energy efficient.
