Munters Corporation, the global leader in state-of-the-art air treatment technology, currently has an immediate opportunity for an Electrical/Controls Engineer to be located in our Selma, TX Operations.

Job Summary

The Electrical/Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, revision, and administration of wiring diagrams and PLC Software for active products and pre-production designs. Engineering requirements include: specification reviews, developing program timelines, drafting reports, design reviews, simple mechanical designs, authoring documentation packages, and providing technical support to field service and production line personnel.   

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in the review and approval of contractor plans, including goals and objectives, work flows and structuring, detailed scope descriptions and schedules, risk assessment and management, milestone descriptions, as well as budgets and staffing requirements

Also:

  • Specifies and tests electrical components
  • Assists in problem resolution specific to the controller software/project
  • Coordinates and performs field management assessments and audits
  • Serves as a point of contact and provides technical direction on electrical subjects
  • Prepares briefings for senior management
  • Writes fabrication, test procedures, and reports
  • Participates in project teams and all activities related to the development of new products including cost reduction/containment strategies, Quality Control, Safety Assurance, and Sales and Marketing technical advisement
  • Assists or leads efforts to achieve 3rd party certifications 

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

• A B.S. in electrical engineering along with a minimum of eight total years of experience (desired) as a combination of engineering / technician / supervision in manufacturing, electrical / electronic design, and technical service related to control, building systems communication, and power systems.

• Exposure to electrical engineering design principles and methodologies is a must. Preference is given for control engineering and programming knowledge and experience.

• Understanding of National Electric Code and experience working to UL electrical standards

• Experience working with sub-contractors, business partners, and/or dislocated support staffing in a technical/engineering supporting role is desired. Knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD Electrical, and digital control, relay logic, or PLC’s is required.

• Other requirements include a proficiency in MS Office, a willing participation in a team-oriented environment, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
